Trichy district has been experiencing heavy rains for the past few days due to storm Purevi. The normal life of the people has been affected due to water stagnation in many places. The entire city of Trichy is flooded with water. Farmers are happy that the lakes and ponds in the district are overflowing.
Most districts of Tamil Nadu have been receiving heavy rains for the last two days due to the storm. Heavy rain has been pouring in Trichy since yesterday. Thus water stagnated in the lower parts of the city. Motorists have been facing difficulties due to water logging in many areas including Central and Chattram bus stands, Thillai Nagar, Anna Nagar, Uzhavar Market, Cantonment and Uraiyur.
A cow fell and died in the rainwater stagnant in the ditch dug for the underground sewer near the Uraiyur Saudeswari Amman temple. People were paralyzed inside the house as the cold wind blew with rain. Good rains also lashed the suburbs of Trichy.
